HEPA Filters ::::
HEPA Filteration technology
was developed by the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission to remove airborne
radioactive particles. HEPA (High Efficiency
Particulate Air) filters are the highest efficiency filters
available for filteration of small particulate.
Defined by the institute of Environmental Science, a true HEPA filter
must capture a minimum of 99.97% of contaminants at 0.3 microns
in size. The reason, 0.3 microns is used because it is that size
at which all mechanical filters are LEAST efficient in capturing.
Other methods of testing do not give a true picture of efficiencies
relative to respirable-size-particle (RSP) capture.

-
To be considered a true HEPA filter,
it must be capable of removing 99.97% of particles as
small as 0.3 microns
-
Recently many people have been enjoying
HEPA systems in their homes & offices to remove allergens
from the air they breathe.
- HEPA
Filter - Efficiency more than 99.97% at 0.3 Microns DOP.

A True HEPA
is also known as an ABSOLUTE Filter because of its efficiency!!

HEPA Filter was developed during World
War II & was designed to remove & capture radioactive dust
particles from the air which might escape & present a health
hazard. Thus it was specifically designed to protect the Human Respiratory
System.
HEPA Filters have been traditionally used
in hospital operating and isolation rooms, pharmaceutical
and computer chip manufacturing companies. Today HEPA filters are used
in a wide variety of critical filteration applications in the nuclear
electronics, aerospace, pharmaceutical and medical fields
and in equipment for asbestos abatement, source removal dust cleaning,
tuberculosis wards, surgical facilities and other areas where clean
and particle free air is essential.
However
a True HEPA's efficiency DOES NOT decrease during its life,
it actually increases!!
Care must be taken when choosing a HEPA
air filter because the most important part is the Power Performance
and CFM (cubic feet per minute ) of the blower or Fan motor. A strong
fan motor is required and essential because the efficiency of any
air filter is meaningless if the unit cannot draw air into the
filter.
Standard
sizes HEPA Filters made by us are as under :-
-
24” x 24” x 12”
1000 CFM
-
24” x 24” x
6” 500 CFM
-
36” x 24” x
6” 750 CFM
-
48” x 24” x
6” 1000 CFM
-
12” x 12” x
6” 125 CFM
However any tailor
made design and sizes can also be manufactured to suit ones
requirement.
Different Material
of Casings offered are :-
1] CRCA 16
Gauge Thick Epoxy Powder Coated or Chrome Plated
2] Aluminum
1.6 mm – 2.0 mm Thick, Powder Coated or Anodized
3] Fire
Retardant / Resistant 19 mm Thick Plywood – As per IS : 5590/1980
4]
Stainless Steel 304, 1.2 mm – 1.6 mm Thick buffed.
All HEPA filters
are tested as MIL – STD - 282 which is one of the widely accepted
industry standard for testing 0.3 micron efficiency and is required
for compliance with most nuclear, military and U.L specifications.
